For as long as I’ve been inhaling my favorite leafy green, I’ve known far too well how often pot smokers are stereotyped. From being zombie-like to eating unnecessarily junky food, some of which you can’t even fathom putting near your pallet (pop tarts and ketchup, anyone?), pot smokers have a reputation for eating bad food. Which is why I’m totally about to give you the low-down on some of my favorite healthy munchies because why not? Im really only a fan of donuts and the occasional milkshake or burger when it comes to junk food so here is my list of some of my favorite, healthy go-to’s after a bowl or two:
My most recent discovery. I love these things. They’re like healthy Cheetos; low fat, low sodium and no nasty “fake cheese” flavor. Oh and when you dip them in hummus? A delight.
Sambazon Acai Bowl Cups
I LOVE Acai bowls, I wish I could have them every day. These don’t exactly compare to a real Acai bowl but it’s the next best thing when you’re in a hurry (or stoned). Acai is full of antioxidants and nutrients but tasty like sorbet; You can bet your high ass these are guilt free and delicious!
These things are GOLD and you won’t find a long ingredient list on the package because they’re just dehydrated bananas! They’ve got banana coconut ones, chocolate covered ones, and of course regular ones (I’m sure they have more but this is what I’ve tried). ALL delicious and still nutritious.
I have such a problem with these. Every time I go to the store, I wander over to the Forager drinks and get the same drink every time because it’s sooo delicious and I can’t help myself. Zero will power. Plus side is that they’re full of real foods and nutrients. Some are sweet, some are “savory” (full of veggies).
Veggies and Hummus
You obviously know this one and if you don’t, well that’s almost sad. First off, dipping your veggies in ranch dressing is (yep, I’m gonna say it) gross. So gross I had to stop myself from typing profanities. It’s not really made of anything nutritionally valuable. BUT hummus is. Hello, chickpeas and tahini (sesame seed paste) blended together? Yeah that’s pretty effing healthy. Not to mention all the different flavors. As for veggies you may be saying to yourself: what do I look like, I chef? I smoke pot, at what point will I ever want to cut up veggies? Well you have whole foods and sprouts to thank for that because both sell organic veggies in ready to eat containers that cost just as much when they aren’t precut. Win! Now you can be stoned AND lazy 😉
Really I could probably go on and on with all the kinds of munchies I find my face buried in but considering you’re probably smoking or vaping or dabbing while you read this, 5 is simple and a good start for your hazey grocery list.
Do you have any favorite healthy munchies?
