This position requires an individual who can provide consistently professional service to patients, demonstrate respect and support for fellow staff members, manage inventory, and acquire expert knowledge about cannabis and its medicinal applications.
The Store Manager is responsible for all dispensary operations on a daily basis. Daily duties include but are not limited to providing exceptional service, guidance and advice to patients on their medicine purchases, maximizing sales, keeping the dispensary inventory at levels appropriate to meet patient needs, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and maintaining a healthy and sanitary environment. The Store Manager reports to the Director of Operations.
Provide exceptional, compassionate service to patients, members, vendors and all other visitors
Perform dispensary opening and closing tasks as directed: balance accounts receivable and payable, oversee staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with state regulations
Communicate with patients in a compassionate manner by carefully listening to their needs
Maximize sales by maintaining excellent product knowledge
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of medical cannabis to describe and explain use, operation and care of medicine or merchandise to match patient requests
Follow procedures to utilize POS system to accurately and correctly ring up cash and cashless debit sales
Upon request, provide information about laws and current events related to medical cannabis
Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines
Punctuality and minimal absenteeism
Follow NuLeaf Safety Code of Conduct
Follow NuLeaf Emergency Action Plan in the event of an emergency
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of retail management experience
Previous experience and success in managing employees
Previous cash handling (cash and credit card transactions) experience; familiarity with POS system preferred
Demonstrated ability to flexibly engage with a diverse customer base, using skills in active listening and verbal communication to identify and resolve customer issues
Demonstrated ability to multi-task with attention to detail and remain focused in a very busy, fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated ability to remain calm and steady during periods of high stress or unusual events
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp operating policies and procedures, products, patient needs, and legal issues
Previous experience in the medical cannabis industry helpful
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Strong reading comprehension and writing skills
Knowledge of basic math calculations
Knowledge of basic computer functions (PC platform, POS system)
Strong attention to detail and ability to focus
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Ability to adapt and change job tasks according to business demands

We’re looking for qualified candidates with a background in Chemistry (experience with Cannabis testing is a huge plus) to add to our team. As one of the newest testing labs in Oregon, we’re looking at hiring candidates who work well in not only the startup culture, but also understand and thrive in the cannabis industry as well.
About the Position:
Qualified candidates will take an active role in supporting the laboratory by applying a variety of analytical methodologies to test the potency and toxicity of cannabis and other cannabis related products. Working knowledge of analytical machines (e.g., LC-MS, PCR, HPLC-UV, HPLC-MS, GC-MS, spectroscopy) and physical chemical/laboratory techniques (e.g., dissolution, sample prep, etc…) used for the testing of cannabis and cannabis related products is desired.
The individual will be responsible for performing laboratory work in support of analytical testing of cannabis, and relevant experience with the following analytical methodologies: chromatography, dissolution, KF, or particle size will be desirable.
Job responsibilities may include analytical method development and validation; stability and release testing; testing to support technology development efforts; direct interaction with project team members, including presentation of data; critical review of data; preparation of technical reports; and evaluation of new instrumentation or analytical techniques. The candidate must be able to interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- The position requires a degree in Analytical Chemistry or Chemistry
- Working knowledge in analytical method development or validation
- Experience with a wide-variety of software and information systems (e.g. Empower, ChemStation, or LIMS).
- Experience in problem-solving skills and instrument trouble-shooting.
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to write and review technical reports and scientific papers are desired.
- Working knowledge of cannabis product development, OLCC regulatory requirements, project management; and capability to collaborate with colleagues.
